Hope you all had good Easter weekends and are enjoying the cricketing weather!
 
This Saturday is the traditional opening to the cricket season, with ground work being undertaken to prepare England’s most picturesque ground for the upcoming season followed by the Matthews hosting the annual pre season drinks party.
 
There is lots to do to get the ground ready for the season, with junior nets starting Monday the 13th and Seniors (some very senior!) on Tuesday the 14th (6.30 pm), and the first friendly game on the 18th April at home to Chipping Sodbury.
 
So could as many people as possible get down to the ground for 10am as there is a lot to do (Grass mowing, Square Rolling and Marking, Artificial Nets brushing and securing, Rain covers need recovering, Debris collection and equipment and pavilion checking!) The quicker we get it done the more likely we can do a little bit of practice!
 
Following this little bit of physical labour you will have earned a drink or two!
 
The club therefore invites you and your partners to the Pre Season drinks party at Pinkney Park (providing you with the opportunity to replenish those lost calories and quench your thirst from earlier in the day!). This begins at 6.30pm and is kindly hosted by the Matthews. It’s a good chance to get the whole club together, players, partners, parents and friends of the club for some cricket (and non cricket at a push) chit chat.
